Kid Dinner Party On The Deck (fun, fun, fun!)
Yesterday "the Kid" asked if he could have friends over for dinner. I thought it was an interesting request from a 9yr old, but I agreed. We sat down and tried to come up with some ideas about what to serve (since we all know how picky children are when it comes to food). In the end we decided on english muffin pizzas, salad and rootbeer floats. It was soooo hot in Maryland yesterday (about 103) so we waited until the sun went down before we got the party started. I let the kids make all the food, they had such a good time and were very creative with their pizzas and organized. We put out some tostitos and queso dip for an appetizer while we waited for the pizzas. I also told the kids to bring along a cd with their favorite song so that everyone could hear something they liked. They all said they had a wonderful time. After the party we walked all the guests home and ended another summer night. As always...I'll post pics later :-)

Movie Night On The Lake
Lastnight was another great night for the outdoor movie on the lake. Every Monday night there is an outdoor showing of kids movies at the lake near our house. The best part about the movies on the lake is that it's FREE! There's usually an ice cream truck stationed at the top of the hill and someone selling neon glowsticks for the kids. It's a fun time and the lake is always full of people on these nights. my son really enjoys this and likes to invite his friends from the neighborhood. The kids talk about it and enjoy it so much that the other parents decided to come with us lastnight. We all had a blast! At the end, the parents were also given FREE movie passes for a movie at the theater this weekend. Summer has been awesome so far...I'll hate to see it end. (I'm sure "the kid" will too) I'll post a couple pics later

Assateague Island

These are more pictures from our day in Assateague. To answer the questions that most people have about the island...Assateague is located in Maryland (right before Ocean City); there were no jellyfish or biting flies; the ponies are wild ponies that live on the island and they just come out whenever they want and if you don't bother them, they won't bother you; the water and beach are clean; there is a gift shop and concession stand; it is $3 per person for MD residents and (I think) $5 for out-of-state; there is also a campground and other wildlife (but i heard the mosquitoes on the campground are terrible)

Back To Summer Blogging
Hey Dolls! I know I've been lacking in the posting of summer of my life but I'm back now! Me and the kid are still having a great summer so far with lots of trips to the pool and I've also been trying lots of great, sweet treat recipes. I've been such a slacker when it comes to taking pics too, but I promise to charge up the camera and take some nice shots to document this special summer. We've been to a cool waterpark, an all you can eat seafood buffet and we've also just spent a few days lounging around the house trying to stay out of the record breaking heat we've been having here. Monday I'm thinking of taking a drive to Assateague Island to lay around on the beach, watch the wild ponies and maybe walk one of the trails. If I decide to go, I'll definitely take lots of pictures and post them for you.

Team Jacob!

Lastnight I went out with my friends and co-workers to the opening night of Eclipse. Though i haven't read the books or seen any of the other movies (because I'm just not into vampires and wolf people), I decided it would still be fun to get out. I was right. Although I was rather hesitant about going in the beginning, I was glad I went in the end. I got to go to the best grocery store in the world (I'm such a food whore), got to sit indian style on the floor while waiting to get in the theater (haven't sat indian style in YEARS...lol) and got to see a really hot guy with no shirt on (the entire movie). So, all in all it was a fun night out with the girls and oh yeah...Jacob's MUCH hotter than Edward.
